ebeam Technologies – Label Industry Global Award for EB curing system

BELGIUM • The Swiss company ebeam has won the award for sustainability at the Label Industry Global Awards 2017 for its ebeam Compact solution. The award was given to ebeam during Labelexpo Europe 2017 in Brussels during an award ceremony where also the winner of the innovations awards were announced as well the lifetime achiemement winner Professor Tan hold a speech.

The judging panel, comprised of experts drawn from across the printing industry, were impressed by the design elements and capabilities of the ebeam Compact electron beam inkjet dryer. By harnessing the power of electrons to provide safe and efficient curing of inks, coatings and adhesives, ebeam Compact is a curing solution that is said to improve production efficiency.

The award was given for the company’s development of a compact electron beam curing system for narrow-web presses which now makes low-energy, photo-initiator-free, curing accessible for label and package printing production. Using ½ to 1/10 of the energy required by heat, steam, chemical, microwave or UV processes, ebeam systems are compact, vacuum-sealed, zero maintenance and have high longevity.
