MPS to show world of opportunities with connectivity at Labelexpo Americas
At this year’s Labelexpo Americas, MPS Systems North America will show the benefits of bringing data exchange and connectivity to the label printing industry.
Visitors will see daily real-time data exchange and control with the “talk to me” connectivity technology implemented on two MPS presses: the EF SYMJET hybrid press on the MPS stand (hall A, stand 911) and the fully automated flexo EF multi-substrate press in the Automation Arena.
Introduced to the market last year at Labelexpo Europe, ‘talk to me’ is a protocol for exchanging data between Management Information Systems (MIS) and MPS printing presses as well as to pre- and post-press systems, to digitally supply set-up variables to the machines. This technology also provides real-time information from the machines, required for companies to be truly productive and remain competitive.
Data to be exchanged from the MIS to press includes the customer name, press run, colour sequence, tooling, material type and thickness, printing plate code and planning (job queue). Data from the press to MIS consists of the operator, printing speed, metres/yards printed (order status), waste produced (waste sheets), set-up and printing time.
Bert van den Brink, technical director at MPS, commented: “We are pleased to once again participate along-side other connectivity-focused suppliers in Automation Arena, as it provides printers and converters a valuable step-by-step understanding of an end-to-end automated and live production environment, to get ready for the future of print.”
