USA • A MPS EF multi-substrate flexo press was installed at Hub Labels, based in Hagerstown, Maryland in February 2018. The new flexo label printing press will be used for the production of linerless labels. Hub Labels, Inc. is one of two companies in the United States to offer this solution to their customers.

The new press is a multi-colour MPS EF flexo press, suitable for label production as well as flexible package printing. According to Hub Labels, the addition of this press complements the current full service, one-stop solution to existing customers as well as nurturing new customers, especially in the linerless label market by offering a wider web and unsupported film printing solutions. Linerless label technology eliminates the liner found on traditional pressure-sensitive labels making linerless technology a more environmentally friendly option.

At Labelexpo Europe 2015, MPS joined the Linerless Trail for the first time, showing together with other industry suppliers, the benefits and developments in linerless labels.

According to the both companies, the new investment will provide Hub Labels, Inc. with more flexibility through its ability to print a variety of substrates including thin film, paper, shrink sleeves and flexible packaging.
