A comment by Peter Lewald, key account director, Domino Digital Printing Solutions
“Labelexpo 2017 was the most successful Labelexpo to date for Domino. It became obvious that UV ink jet is fully accepted to be the alternative production tool for labels. Previous ink jet hurdles like quality, speed and reliability are history.
Label printers understand that today’s 600 dpi solutions give the best value for money and return on investment. Many international visitors saw live demonstrations of our Domino N610i/ABG hybrid solution and the N610i stand-alone unit running at 70m/minute. Our K600i White digital print module integrated onto a Graphimecc finishing line with a second K600i printing our new UV fluorescent ink, an ideal solution for security printing and brand protection, generated high interest as well.
At the show, we announced that we could print onto a number of industry standard shrink sleeve materials using our UV90 ink set on the N610i label press. With this latest technology breakthrough, the Domino N610i is the first ink jet press to successfully print shrink sleeves. Interest and visitor response was extremely positive and encouraging, and one of our OEM partners confirmed a sale of a Domino hybrid line configuration during the show, designed to print both self-adhesive labels and shrink sleeves.
The ‘icing on the cake’ was the impressive number of sales that we made to label printers from Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain and Portugal with repeat orders from two of the top 5 multi-national label converters.”
