Edale – Automated label press on display
BELGIUM • At Labelexpo Europe 2017 the British manufacturer of printing equipment will show the six-colour label printing press FL3 in order to demonstrate “the most automated label press in the industry”. On display will further be the digital print bar system EFX.
According to Edale, the autonomous inking, impression and registration feature (AiiR) allows the press to set the printing functions without operator adjustments. All the operator has to do is change the print cylinders and press the start button. The company’s software in conjunction with the AVT camera technology then takes control of the press, including a 100% inspection feature. Regarding hybrid printing, a six-colour Graphium unit will be incorporated into the Edale FL3.
The semi rotary die-cutting module will show auto die loading and unloading and auto-register. According to the company, this enables that a job that could take 15 minutes in a production environment is now setup in less than two minutes.
A new product from Edale for digital embellishments will also be shown at Labelexpo Europe 2017: the EFX digital print bar. The system can be rail mounted on new presses as well as retro fitted onto existing presses. The EFX now supports a wider range of solutions including digital foil and varnish, high build varnish and a screen replacement white.
