Markets and Events
Labelexpo India is regarded as the premium show for Indian label industry, attracting visitors not only from within the country but also from all the neighboring countries in the region. Since the show was moved from its traditional venue, Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, there were apprehensions about its success. The venue though smaller in size in comparison yet was pleasantly much better than Pragati Maidan in terms of infrastructure and housekeeping. It surely gave the show an international feel. Surprisingly from a slow start on day one the show was busy thereafter and attracted an extremely focused quality of visitors. Over 200 exhibitors made the show to be the biggest so far in its 14 years history and 8045 visitors visited despite the one and a half to two hours drive from various parts of New Delhi.
Some of the regular international exhibitors like Mark Andy and Gallus gave the show a miss. However still, all known large label printers from across the country were visible at the show. Important exhibitors like Nilpeter, Omet, HP, Xeikon, Orthotec, Avery, UPM Raflatac, Weigang, Multitec, Vinsak, Flint, Henkel, Du Pont and Bobst added value to the show. Many Indian exhibitors also exhibited which shows the growth in the industry at large and we expect that these first time exhibitors will have a chance to interact with a larger customer base and also get exposure to a global audience. Surely this will enhance their aspirations to cater to an international customer base as well. LMAI label awards night was held on the second day evening at the same venue. It was a full house and the event was joyfully celebrated and enjoyed by all attending.
Many important sales were made at the show and these include announcements by Omet, Nilpeter, Xeikon, Vinsak, Multitec, Martin Automatic, Alphasonics, R K Label and many more. Jade Grace, show director, Labelexpo group says, over 50% of the space for the next edition of the show is already booked. Lisa Milburn, Managing Director of Labelexpo Group expressed satisfaction on the successful and appreciable completion of the show.
Harveers detailed story on this show will be published in issue 1-2017 of NarrowWebTech.
