Acimga and Assocomaplast confirm cooperation agreement

ITALY •  Acimga, the Italian graphic machinery manufacturers’ association, and Assocomaplast, its equivalent for plastics and rubber processing technology, have reached an agreement to share premises and services, including technical and admin offices, a research centre, and IT management, all with effect from 1st June.  Since the technologies represented by the two associations share similar target markets, the arrangement will bring joint promotional opportunities in overseas markets

Speaking as President of Acimga, Omet’s Marco Calcagni commented: “For some time now we have seen a convergence of technology in the package printing and plastics industries in terms of joint exhibitions and promotional activities.  This agreement will optimise our organisation and costs, and improve technology supply dynamics in national and international markets.”

Each association will retain its own operational structure, led by the respective Boards of Directors and Presidents, so that continuity is maintained for those graphics, package printing, and converting companies that do not work with plastic materials.

“At a time when we are calling on institutions to rationalise their organisation, it seemed only natural to welcome Acimga into our offices and share some of the services we have been offering our members for years,” stated Giorgio Colombo, President of Assocomaplast and owner of Icma San Giorgio.
