Cosmo Films – Two additional lines for specialty films

INDIA • Cosmo Films has finished installing two additional lines in their Export Oriented Unit (EOU) plant in Shendra, India. The unit can now manufacture various speciality films for packaging, label and lamination applications.

The first line is a two metres (6.6 ft) wide chemical coating line for coated products like face stock for self-adhesive labels, lamination films and high barrier films. According to the company, a line camera detect manufacturing defects during production. With this latest addition, Cosmo has now five chemical coating lines. The second installation is a 2.4 metres (7.8 ft) wide metalliser for the production of metallised films, including the high barrier metallised films.  These additions in the EOU complement the 8.7 metres (28.5 ft) BOPP line and makes the company in India self-sufficient. Cosmo Films has an annual coating capacity of 10,000 tonnes and an annual metallizing capacity of 15,000 tonnes.
