Flint Group – New Nilpeter test machine for development centre

SWEDEN • In October 2014 the narrow web division of Flint Group put into operation a Nilpeter MO combination press at their development centre in Trelleborg. Due to the platform technology the ink manufacturer can use the new press in a very flexible way for its development efforts. Apart from three flexo and two offset print units the press is also supplied with a printing unit for rotary screen printing and two units for cold foil embossing.

A particular feature of the new MO-4 is the configuration for drying and hardening of inks and varnishes. All print units are supplied with conventional UV curing systems and also with LED-UV curing systems. In additions, two units are provided with inertisation systems. For the drying of waterbased inks the press is supplied with a hot-air system.

As far as UV-LED curing inks are concerned, Flint Group already developed ready to use products for flexo and screen printing. Currently, the test runs on the new press serves the detailed investigation of curing processes and the determination of potential migration risks.
