Mark Andy – Waste as raw material

Enviro-Fuel Cubes are an alternative fuel source

USA • The company has begun supplying a majority of its operational waste as raw material in the production of an alternative fuel source, Enviro-Fuelcubes, a green fossil fuel substitute produced by Materials Lifecycle Management Company (MLMC). By transforming waste disposal methods, Mark Andy Inc. wants to reduce its carbon footprint.

MLMC has developed a manufacturing process which converts secondary recovered materials (SRM) into alternative Enviro-Fuelcubes which are used by manufacturers to replace and reduce coal consumption. SRM are nonresidential, non-hazardous, solid materials that are being landfilled or incinerated annually in the United States. The company is located near St. Louis, Missouri, USA.

Beginning this month, Mark Andy has started diverting an estimated 26 tons of SRM waste per month (278 tons annually) to the MLMC manufacturing facility to produce the Enviro-Fuelcubes. According to the manufacturer, this will eliminate approximately 90% of Mark Andy factory waste from going into landfills and reduce overall waste removal expense by nearly 42% per year.
