Codimag – Xaar Print Bar System launched at Labelexo Americas
USA • The company launched the Xaar Print Bar System integrated into its Viva340 modular press at Labelexpo Americas. This is the Xaar’s debut show in America and follows on from the interest generated at Labelexpo Europe last year.
The Viva340 is a modular press that can be specified according to customers’ needs and is an intermittent presses which has all the major printing or finishing processes in line. The Xaar Print Bar System, when integrated into this press, can be used to add high opacity white, varnish or black in a single pass to 4 colour labels right up to high end labels for premium products.
The Xaar Print Bar System allows users to take advantage of the benefits of digital printing. It is a versatile, easy-to-configure solution ideal for personalised, variable data, special effects and short-run printing for a range of applications, including labels and packaging, and saves the considerable cost and time associated with analogue production methods. By using Xaar 1002 printheads with TF technology the Xaar Print Bar System can handle a wide range of inks and fluids, including spot colours (K or CMY), protective lacquers, high-build spot varnish, heavily pigmented high-opacity under-surface whites and cold foil adhesives. Our selected ink partners include Nazdar, SunJet and Fujifilm Speciality Ink Systems (FSIS).
According to Codimag, the Xaar Print Bar is a complete “ready-to-use system” featuring a choice of Xaar 1002 printheads (GS6, GS12 or GS40 depending on the application), an ink supply system and full print management and workflow capabilities to ensure total control of the print process. It is available in print widths of 140 mm to 560 mm (6” to 22”)and prints at speeds of up to 75 m/min ( 246 fpm) depending on the application.
