DPL Industri – New Speedy proofer ink system
DENMARK • The company has developed two new products for LED curing: the new Speedy proofer ink system and the Easy LED curing system. DPL Industri demonstrated its solutions at European Coating Show 2017 in Germany.
LED curing technology offers a range of benefits over traditional mercury UV curing, such as lower operating costs and no stand by time and the absence of ozone exhaust risks. The only problem for LED curing is wavelength. Compared with mercury UV curing, LED curing system will provide much more energy at single wavelengths, such as 365 nm,395 nm, but mercury UV curing systems provide a “curing area” from UVB to UVA, which is more suitable for current ink systems. Thus, it is more and more important to customers to test their LED ink before they decide to invest in LED curing system for their printing or coating machine.
According to the supplier of UV curing solutions, compared with other suppliers in the market, the Speedy proofer uses sliding block carry the ink sample or radiation metre by Linear Motion system with servo driver and an integrated PLC control to reach precision measurement at speeds from 4 to 300 m/min (13 to 984 fpm).
The company’s clients set testing speed and UV Energy levels on touchscreen, sliding block with ink sample run automatically at the setup speed when it passes the curing area. In the meanwhile the lamp will automatically reach the setup energy. After curing, the sample will be automatically returned to the start position. The new Speedy proofer ink system provides a real-time picture for your curing result the same as your printing machines.
