MPS – Launch of flexo/digital hybrid at Labelexpo Europe
THE NETHERLANDS • MPS will launch a new narrow web flexo/digital hybrid press, known as EF Symjet at Brussels. It has been developed in response to customer demand to fill the gap between conventional flexo and digital printing machines. Initially it will be sold and supported in Europe, with the digital technology manufacturer, who’s name will be revealed at Labelexpo, supplying both the UV digital ink and onsite service.
The use of MPS’ EF platform and a well-proven inkjet engine creates a highly flexible machine that will allow converters to combine flexo and digital printing, as well as converting in one-pass. Two web widths are involved – 340 mm (13.4“)for digital or combined running and the wider 430 mm (16.6“) when running in pure flexo mode. The EF Symjet press will be equipped with the new QCD automatic die cutting system, which uniquely allows preparation of the next die-cut job on press, while it is still running. Pressure and material settings can be saved out of job memory and the material library.
